3. Prosecutor says Grace sign placement violated order in Concord (news-usa.today) — A Concord resident, John Grace, is facing a legal challenge over whether placing a critical sign along Superintendent Laurie Hunter's commute violated a civil harassment prevention order. Prosecutors now argue the sign's location, not its slogans, amounted to prohibited contact, while the defense says Hunter is using the courts to stifle criticism. A judge is weighing whether to suppress evidence from a contested home search before Grace returns to court in October.
   

4. Thoreau's Sudbury River: 'dammed and cursed' (waylandpost.org) — Long-running battles over dams on the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord rivers, including early protests by Concord residents, are culminating in a proposed removal of the Talbot Mills dam at Billerica Falls. The change would reopen miles of river to migratory fish and continues a centuries-old debate over industry, farming, and conservation. For Concord-area residents, it's a chance to rethink how these rivers are managed and enjoyed.
