Softball players have fun, while Concord Legion team drops contest
From now on this summer, Tuesday will be girls' night at the ballpark at Emerson Playground.
Concord-Carlisle Youth Softball is running a summer program each week for girls in second and third grade. The first session was held on Tuesday. Players participated in a pickup game and learned the fundamentals of the game.
On Thursday, the Concord Post 158 American Legion baseball team fell to Lowell Post 87 9-2 at Lowell's Alumni Field.

Concord hung tight for half the game, but Lowell got to starter Carlo Del Donno for six runs in the fifth inning. Brian Dizio had multiple hits for Concord. He had a pair of singles to go with two steals.
Members of the Concord-Carlisle High School golf team, which won a Division II North title last fall, are keeping busy this summer. Several are competing in tournaments around Massachusetts, and putting up stellar results.
