Gus Sebring, Associate Principal Horn of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Horn of Boston Pops was born at Emerson Hospital.
CONCORD, MA — Emerson hospital staff were treated to a virtual concert by Gus Sebring, Associate Principal Horn of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Horn of Boston Pops. Sebring recorded the performance with a message thanking hospital staff who are on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
Sebring said Emerson holds a special place in his heart as he and his five siblings were born in the hospital.
"We would like to express our appreciation for all that you're doing and we would like to express our concern for all those undergoing health issues at this time," Sebring said in his video, "In order to express our appreciation and to give you something that's outside the terribly important work that you're doing, I'd like to play for you two pieces.."

Sebring isn't the first notable Emerson alumni to send well-wishes to staff battling the coronavirus pandemic. Last week, Steve Carell also shouted out Emerson staff, noting that he was born at the hospital and his mother served as a nurse in the hospital for over 30 years.
