2017 HRMS/Food Pantry Thanksgiving Food Drive For Danvers

Holten Richmond Middle School recently held its annual weeklong Thanksgiving Food Drive for the Danvers People-to-People Food Pantry.

Once again, we held our annual week-long Holten Richmond Thanksgiving Food Drive for the Danvers People-to-People Food Pantry. This is the “18th” year I’ve coordinated and chaired this wonderful event for the pantry! This year’s drive was great! The competition was exciting, especially during the Student Council weigh-ins. Everyone wants to win!

The class in each grade with the most weight in non-perishable food won a munchkin/juice breakfast. This year‘s food drive was held Oct 30-Nova 3. The enthusiastic student council, guidance department, and student body did a fabulous job and everyone had a blast!

We, at the pantry, received an awesome 1,650 lbs of food!! We certainly needed all the wonderful food to fulfill the pantry’s turkey dinners.

The student council carried the many bags of food out to my husband Chuck‘s pickup for delivery to the pantry, with pantry volunteer, Barbara Crean, once again on the spot.

Here are the winning homerooms of the munchkin/juice breakfast:
