Danvers Discolored Water Notice Extended Through Dec. 17

Residents in the area of the pump station on Doty Avenue may experience at least two more weeks of discolored water because of rehab work.

DANVERS, MA — Ongoing sewer rehabilitation work at the Doty Avenue pump station may cause water discoloration in nearby Danvers neighborhoods for at least another two weeks.

Customers on Doty Avenue, Choate Avenue, Chevalier Avenue, Hussey Avenue, Kimball Avenue, Bradstreet Avenue, Tibbetts Avenue, Ocean Avenue and Bagley Avenue may observe rust-colored water when they turn on their taps through Friday, and again from Dec. 13 through Dec. 17.

The South Essex Sewerage District is performing the work.

The Danvers Department of Public Works said the water is safe, however, those who see discolored water should flush the lines in your homes by running all cold water taps for a few minutes until the water runs clear.

No work is scheduled for the week of Dec. 20.
