Amerault, a 30-year veteran of the department, and Barry were named to their new ranks in September, but the public ceremony was delayed because of the coronavirus health crisis.
"I've had the privilege of working closely with Bob and Brian for the past six years," Bartha said at the time of the promotions. "Their dedication to this community is matched by few. I'm excited to watch them build upon the solid foundation laid by those who came before them, and have every confidence in their ability to lead the department into the future."
