Flushing will begin at the Middleton line and proceed southeast to Danversport over a period of five weeks.
DANVERS, MA — The annual flushing of the Danvers hydrants begins March 28.
Flushing is conducted most every spring to clear sediment that builds up over the previous year. It is expected to take about five weeks townwide using a combination of morning hours and evening hours. Morning flushing will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and evening flushing will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
On some busy roadways, an early morning flushing session will be held from 3 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The program will progress through town beginning at the Middleton line in the northwest end and proceeding southeast to Danversport. Each of the six sessions of town will take about three days to complete. The flushing will start on March 28 — weather permitting — between Route 62 and Route 114 from the Middleton line to the Route 95 corridor.
Some water discoloration will likely occur. When it does, residents should run cold water until it clears. Within an hour of completion, the line should clear on its own.
