Danvers To Light The Night Purple To Fight Substance Abuse
The Danvers CARES night of speakers, mile walk and support is Wednesday night at the Peabody Institute Library.

DANVERS, MA — The annual Danvers public show of support for residents battling opiate and other substance addictions will include a march, a line of speakers and food trucks at the Peabody Institute Library on Wednesday.
Danvers CARES presents the program beginning with a walk registration and welcome at 6:30, followed by the 7 p.m. mile march and 7:30 speakers series and purple illumination.
The night begins and ends at the Rotary pavilion with parking available in the lot adjacent to the town hall. The event is free and open to the public with the first 100 attending receiving T-shirts.

Those attending are encouraged to wear purple — the color that represents substance recovery.

The walk route is about one mile and includes Elm Street, High Street, Danvers Square, the rail trail along Hobart Street and a return to the library.
A food and ice cream truck will be back at the library following the event and water will be provided.
