Danvers Plans Series Of Earth Day (Weekend) Events For 2024
The events include a zero-waste recycling drive, electronics recycling, bottle and can drive, paper shredding and more.
DANVERS, MA — The town of Danvers is planning a series of events to celebrate Earth Day, environmental awareness and recycling efforts during the weekend of May 4 and May 5 in the high school parking lot.
The events will include a zero-waste recycling event, paper shredding, electronics recycling, a bottle and can drive, and more.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proof of residency will be required upon entry.

Simple Recycling will collect clothing, shoes, purses, linens, comforters and household items either bagged or boxed.
BoxQ Electronics Recycling will collect laptops, keyboards, mice, cable wires, routers, cell phones, cameras and small appliances for free. Computer monitors are $10 and televisions of all sizes are $30. Printers and copiers are $10. Stereo equipment is $5 per unit. Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners are $25. Microwaves are $10.

Stoves, clothes washers, dryers, and dehumidifiers may be disposed of with the metals at no charge.
Republic Services will shred the first two boxes of paper for free; subsequent boxes are $5 each (cash accepted here only). This money will be donated to the Danvers Food Pantry.
Metals and rigid plastics can be dropped off for no charge.
Compost bins are available for $25.
Bottles and cans will be collected by Cub Scout Pack 16 on Saturday only.
