Danvers Pride Party Celebration, Flag-Raising Set For June
The town's Pride Day will include a Pride Party with music, trivia, raffles, food, games and drag queen storytime.
DANVERS, MA — A Danvers Pride Community Celebration scheduled for June 1 is set to include flag-raising events at both town hall and the police station, as well as a Pride Party featuring music, trivia, raffles, food, games and drag queen storytime.
The police department flag-raising is scheduled for 3:30 with the town hall one at 4 p.m. and the Pride Party at the Peabody Institute Library to follow at 4:30.
The Pride Month event will come three weeks after Wednesday's drag queen make-up class for teens at the library lawn. That even drew a handful of protestors to the town, as well as dozens of those supporting that drag queen event, and similar public LGBTQ+ programs.

The Salem State University for Civic Engagement on Wednesday urged its members to attend the teen makeup event as "an opportunity to show your support for LGBTQIA youth in the Danvers area," as part of a peaceful demonstration being organized by local community members.
