Danvers Schools Canceled Friday, Town Offices Delayed Opening

Grab a sled.

DANVERS, MA — Grab sled. The Danvers Public Schools will be closed on Friday January 5, 2018 due to the winter storm and to allow for clean up. On top of that: The Town will be implementing a 1 hour delay of Town Offices tomorrow (the offices that were affected by the closing today) and Town Hall will be opening at 9 a.m.

Does this mean the last day of school will be pushed back? Nope. Per state law, five snow days are built-in to the calendar in Danvers. June 20-26 are built-in as make-up days for any weather cancellations. If the weather's nice a couple days could get shaved off.
The district waits until April 1 (once the threat of winter storms has really passed) to make the official announcement of what the official last day of school will be.
Right now students will be in school through June 20.... but that could easily change.
