About the Program:
During the program, students work with Rising Stars’ staff of professional, experienced educators as they learn to sing, act, and dance their way through a wide variety of fun Broadway musical selections. The selections are chosen based on the talent that is displayed during auditions, creating a program that is tailor-made to the students each year. The musical revue format allows us to feature more students as soloists, and exposes them to a broader range of musical theater styles. Rising Stars is committed to maintaining a high staff-to-student ratio, so that each student can receive the attention that he or she needs to shine.

Program Highlights:
Intensive individual and group vocal instruction
Intensive dance instruction
Acting and scene skill development
Individualized attention
Professional staff members with a minimum of an MM Degree or equivalent experience, and extensive performance experience both locally and internationally
Professional sound, including body microphones
Live instrumental accompaniment
Intensive, immersive learning experience - students take an entire program from page to stage in one week!

About the Directors
Rising Stars Directors Kim Lamoureux and Ellen Allen are both successful, established voice teachers and singers, maintaining full-time teaching studios and performing regularly in venues throughout greater Boston. Both are graduates of Gordon College (B.M. in music performance, summa cum laude) and the Longy School of Music of Bard College (M.M. in opera and voice performance), and are members of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). In addition to their teaching and performing endeavors, Kim currently serves on the board of the Boston chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and Ellen is the director of Grace Notes, an all-girls chamber choir comprised of homeschool students from throughout the North Shore.
