Topsfield Fair Names Junior King, Queen To Kick Off First Full Week

A Hamilton boy and Georgetown girl were chosen to represent the Fair at parades and events this coming year.

TOPSFIELD, MA — A young man from Hamilton and young lady from Georgetown will represent the Topsfield Fair at events throughout the next year after being chosen at 2022 Junior King and Queen on Saturday.

Anthony DiLuna, 7, of Hamilton and Vanessa Tortorelli, 7, of Georgetown were crowned this year's pageant winners.

Each year, the Fair picks one boy and one girl between ages 5 and 8 to become the Junior King and Junior Queen. They will appear at local parades throughout the year on behalf of the Fair.

Contestants are interviewed with winners chosen based on general appearance, conduct and personality.

The Topsfield Fair also held its Giant Pumpkin Weigh-In Contest on Friday with a Tyngsboro man's pumpkin breaking the Fair's 204-year-old record at 2,480 pounds.

Monday is the Fair's Senior Day and Sensory Awareness Day when lights and sounds are subdued to make the atmosphere more conducive to those with autism or other sensory sensitivities.

Entertainment on Monday is Strictly Sinatra Presents The Rat Pack on the big stage at 1 and 6 p.m.
