Balanced Attack Leads Dedham Boys Hoops to Upset Playoff Win
Dedham knocked off fourth-seeded Rockland Wednesday evening on the road to advance to the quarterfinals.
Ed Hickey’s boys basketball team pulled off a 49-48 upset win Wednesday evening against fourth-seeded Rockland in a game they led virtually wire to wire.
The Marauders led throughout the first three quarters with Rockland tying the game briefly with 3 minutes to go in the game, coach Hickey said.
Down a point with about 30 seconds left, Rockland had four chances to score a go-ahead basket – but missed all four attempts and the Marauders hung on to advance to the MIAA Division 3 South quarterfinals.
