Throughout its 250 years of history, America has been blessed with great poets, whose prophetic voices have inspired us to seek “the better angels of our nature.” The works on our program feature the words of Walt Whitman and Langston Hughes, set to dramatic and lyrical music by American composers, including Howard Hanson, Ola Gjeilo, and John Michael Trotta, and accompanied by an ensemble of piano, strings and percussion. To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, “the mystic chords…will yet swell the chorus.”

NEEDHAM, MA — If you’ve ever watched a performance and wondered what happens just out of sight — the frantic whispers, the misplaced props, the barely-averted disasters — Needham Community Theatre (NCT) is about to pull back the curtain. And what’s behind it is absolutely, gloriously unhinged.
NCT is proud to announce its upcoming production of Noises Off, the classic backstage farce by acclaimed British playwright Michael Frayn, running May 8–16, 2026 at Carleton Auditorium at Newman School, 1155 Central Ave, Needham, MA 02492.
First performed in London’s West End in 1982, Noises Off has earned its place as one of the funniest plays ever written. The show follows a ragtag touring theatre company as they muddle through rehearsals, performances, and the spectacular implosion of their personal lives — all while sardines, bouquets of flowers, and slamming doors threaten to bring the whole production to its knees. It’s a comedy about putting on a comedy, and it delivers laughs at a pace that will leave audiences breathless.

Complete the circle of hope by helping Fill a Truck with much needed items for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity this May 30 , 10 – 2 pm at <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/CikYarKvFKqgjm878" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Ocean State Job Lot on Route 1 in Dedham</a>, 100 Providence Highway. 
The event is organized and sponsored by Mark’s Moving &amp; Storage, the official mover of Circle of Hope. In addition, Mark’s Moving &amp; Storage is providing a driver, support staff and surplus storage if needed. Circle of Hope, an organization that provides individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, will be the recipient of the donations.
The public is encouraged to stop by and help fill a Mark’s Moving &amp; Storage truck with some of the most-needed items: new T-shirts, sweatpants, and sweatshirts for all ages, and unopened sunscreen. Like-new clothing donations and unopened hygiene products will also be accepted!
