Dedham Town Meeting members voted overwhelmingly during Monday's Special Town Meeting to allow the .

The town will borrow $450,000 to pay for the property and its demolition sometime in the future.

Town officials have hinted at a possible expansion of the , which abutts the property, or some kind of dual use shared between the fire station and . 

The parcel of land is 4,387 sq. ft.

A Special Town Meeting was called for the purchase because the deal to buy the property went through after the warrant was set for Monday's scheduled Annual Town Meeting.
