“Even if the parole board approves Craffey’s release, he won’t be getting out of prison right away. He must also serve time for aggravated rape. But the victim’s family worries Craffey will be that much closer to walking out of prison.
A spokesman for Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley told 5 Investigates the district attorney is strongly opposed to parole for Craffey and will be sending an assistant district attorney to the hearing to argue against it.”

This will be Craffey’s second chance at parole, as he was denied a chance at freedom in 2010. The board cited 16 prison disciplinary reports as well as saying he “gave no indication that he had any understanding of his apparent sexually deviant behavior which led to the murder,” according to the report.
