Those laws include:

  • Within 6 months of receiving a Junior Operating Licensee, may not operate with any passenger under 18 (excluding under 18 driver and immediate family members) unless accompanied by: A person who is at least age 21 and has at least 1 year of driving experience, and holds a valid license from Mass. or another state, and is occupying the seat next to the driver.
  • A JOL may never operate between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Remember, under this guideline, the parent/guardian does not need to be a licensed driver.
