Dedham Moderator Named 2014 Geiger Gibson Program Distinguished Visitor

The program honors individuals whose careers serve as "an inspiration in public health policy and practice."

Dedham Town Moderator and CEO of Harbor Health Services, Inc. Dan Driscoll has been named the 2014 Geiger Gibson Distinguished Visitor by the Milken Institute School of Public Health.

Driscoll was recognized in September for the Geiger Gibson Distinguished Visitor Program, which “honors individuals whose lifetime careers in community healthy and achievements on behalf of health centers and medically underserved communities serve as an inspiration in public health policy and practice,” according to an announcement by The RCHN Community Health Foundation.

In addition to his roles as Dedham’s Town Moderator and as the founding president and CEO of Harbor Health Services, Driscoll holds a degree in Political Science and Economics with honors from Tufts University, as well as a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University, where he received a Comprehensive Health Planning Traineeship, according to the RCHN Foundation.

Driscoll has also received several awards and honors throughout his career, such as the National Association of Community Health Center‘s John Gilbert Award for “meritorious service in community health” and the Massachusetts League of Community Health Center‘s Kathleen Crampton Award for outstanding contributions to community health, among others.
