A shoplifting was reported at the Dedham Best Buy. A woman was walking around the store and placing DVDs/video games in her pocketbook. Camera footage showed the woman browsing the DVD section and bending down multiple times and shielding herself from the cameras. Every time she stood back up she placed her pocketbook, which was a large black bag, onto her shoulder. It appeared to be bulging from having too many items inside. The cameras showed she went into the store restroom and staff thought she might have been removing security tags and taking some pieces of merchandise out of their boxes. When the woman left the bathroom she went over to customer service to ask how she could pre-order merchandise. She was stopped by police after exiting the store. A check of her purse revealed 10 DVDs and video games at a product sell price total of $260. She was warned that if she returned to Best Buy she could be subject to arrest. She was also told she will be receiving a criminal complaint.
