Dedham Police Log: Dog Left Outside in Cold for an Hour

Saturday, Jan. 31
At 12:30 p.m., a man reported that he bought a $399 Sony Channel Sound Bar for his new TV. The product was stolen off the sidewalk when he placed it there and left to get his van. He noticed his purchase was gone when he pulled up to Best Buy.

At 1:41 p.m. a man reported he received a bill in the mail from Verizon for an account he did not open. He called Verizon and informed them the account was fraudulent. Verizon informed him the account had been opened for a cellular phone in his name and using his social security number. He was informed that the account has since been closed and the number was deactivated.

At 2:32 a.m. a dog was reportedly left on the porch of a Dedham home for approximately an hour in nearly 10 degree weather. Police knocked on the front and back door of the home. A woman opened the door and said the dog belonged to her boyfriend who was asleep upstairs and likely forgot to bring the dog back inside. The dog was then brought inside.
