Dedham Students in Bye Bye Birdie

Family fun with rock and roll music!

Caroline Barkowitz, a freshman at Dedham High, and Wyatt Staton-Todaro, an 8th grader at Dedham Middle School, are both in the cast of the musical Bye Bye Birdie at The Footlight Club in Jamaica Plain.  Inspired by Elvis Presley and his draft notice into the Army, the story follows rock and roll star Conrad Birdie as he goes to the little town of Sweet Apple, Ohio to sing “One Last Kiss” live on the Ed Sullivan Show. Other classic songs include “Telephone Hour”, “Put on a Happy Face” and “Kids”. The Footlight Club is America’s oldest community theater, founded in 1877. Shows are Nov 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 8pm and Nov 9, 16 and 22 at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased at www.footlight.org or by calling (617) 524-3200.
