Gingerbread House Contest on Saturday
The event will take place at the Fellowship Church on 47 Milton St.

Dedham’s 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Contest is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Hosted by the Fellowship Church at 47 Milton St., the free event is open to all. It will include complimentary food, drinks and activities for the whole family. Dedham Savings is once again the lead sponsor, with additional support from Oakdale Square Alliance.
Pastor Stephen Johnson is once again working with Oakdale Square Alliance Co-Founder Paul Reynolds to plan, promote and run the Gingerbread House Contest. Local celebrities will serve as judges of the competition, including State Representative Paul McMurtry and New York Times best-selling author/illustrator Peter H. Reynolds. Judging will be held during the event, with the awards ceremony at approximately 4:40 pm. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: kids (Blue Bunny Books gift certificate), teens (tablet computer) and adult (Isabella Restaurant gift certificate).

All pre-registered and accepted entries will be awarded a festival ribbon, and three prizes to be awarded in three categories:
- adult (ages 18+)
- teen (13-17)
- youth (12 or under)
Entries will be judged based on five criteria:

- Overall Appearance
- Originality & Creativity
- Difficulty
- Precision
- Consistency of Theme
Prizes will be given in all categories. All entries will be on display at Fellowship Church on the day of the event. Winning entries will be then displayed at various prominent Dedham locations.
