Massachusetts Run For The Fallen 5K Returns to Dedham on September 12, 2026

The Massachusetts Run For The Fallen 5K will return to Barnes Memorial Park in Dedham on Saturday, September 12, bringing together members of the community to honor Massachusetts military members and first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Participants may complete the timed 5K as a run, walk or ruck and families and participants of all experience levels are welcome.

The event will begin with the bib pickup from 8 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a Fallen Hero Name Reading Ceremony at 9:30 a.m. The 5K will start at 11 a.m.

Following the race, participants and their families are invited to attend a post race barbecue and family celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities will include viewing military vehicles, running through a bounce obstacle course and additional family friendly entertainment.

New this year, the event will expand its tribute to recognize Massachusetts police officers, firefighters and EMS professionals who have died in the line of duty since the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Participants may also create teams in honor of fallen first responders, whose names can be recognized with custom markers placed along the course.

Proceeds and donations will remain in Massachusetts and help provide critical grants and assistance to the families of fallen heroes.
