Nobles Girls Basketball Heads Into Final Game With Win
Girls basketball easily defeats St Marks, 62-25.
girls basketball season is winding down and the (16-3) Bulldogs are excited about their chances heading into the Class A playoffs.
After soundly defeating St. Marks Wednesday afternoon, 62-25, the Bulldogs will travel to Rivers Friday night to play for the ISL championship.
“We’re playing good basketball right now, and we face a tremendous challenge against Rivers, they are 18-1 for a reason,” commented Nobles coach Alex Gallagher.

Wednesday afternoon was possibly the last home game for three seniors - Darla Wynn, Nora Kelly and Reilly Foote.
However, after the tournament seeds are drawn up the Bulldogs are expected to receive a least one home game in the tournament.

“I haven’t and probably unwilling to process it as our last home game at this point,” said Kelly after the win.
Nobles opened up a convincing 9-2 lead over Nobles thanks to Lauren Taiclet who scored 6 of her 8 points in the opening eight minutes over the undersized St. Marks team.
Kelly added a 3-p[ointer and freshman Lauren Dillon had the play of the game as she stole the ball and dove on the floor to secure the ball and made a beautiful bounce pass from her back to a streaking Kelly for an easy lay-up to put Nobles up 18-2.
Junior Alli Parent added a pair of 3-pointers as the second unit made their way in the game at the 10:22 mark of the first half and extended the lead to 26-2, before the third unit came on.
The Nobles lead was extended to 38-5 at the half.
Sophomore Hannah Peterson played well in the second half scoring on consecutive trips down the floor to give the Bulldogs a 52-12 lead while St. Marks’ Mackenzie Duncan hit some late 3-pointers to close the gap late.
Nobles' Sophie Mussafer added a late hoop for the and Alexandra Charron, Devin Caccavaro and Colby Chanenchuk all saw minutes and played well throughout the game.
The highlight of the season for the Bulldogs was traveling north and beating the highly ranked New Hampton team who beat Tabor, an ISL team that has given the Bulldogs fits this year.
“Were coming along offensively, we are taking our time, and not turning over the ball,” said Kelly
“Tabor is the team to beat, they are a difficult match-up, and they have a really high basketball IQ,” said Gallagher.
