Reportedly Angry Turkey, Glass Window Smashed: Dedham Police Log

March 7

8:04 p.m. - A person told police that his car was scratched while parked at a store on Providence Highway.

March 8

6:28 a.m. - Police were dispatched to Washington Street for a report of a person who kicked out a window. When police located the suspect, he yelled profanities at the officers before being ordered to go back to the business. A person at the business told police that the suspect came in asking for a public phone and began to yell profanities when he was told the store did not have a public phone. On his way out, the suspect elbowed a glass window, which is estimated to cost about $1,000 to repair. The suspect was taken into police custody.

March 9

9:47 a.m. - An employee at a store on Providence Highway told police that a woman took three chandeliers and made a return on them. The officer said he would apply for a summons.

11:09 a.m. - The animal control officer was dispatched for a complaint of a woman who was trapped in her house by turkeys. When the officer arrived, it was discovered that the woman was never trapped but was concerned that there was a troop of large turkeys in her backyard. The officer hearded the turkeys to allow for the woman’s car to return inside and asked her to call if the turkeys became aggressive.
