Rob learned his craft on the stages and the open mics of Boston’s fertile folk scene. Meanwhile he was sharing the stage with the best of Boston’s jazz musicians, folks like Mark Shilansky and Phil Sargent. At this time he was also an astute student of world music, particularly percussion. He cofounded the hard to categorize duo – and sometimes band – Cactus Highway, of which the Village Voice called “Amazing”.
