DEDHAM, MA — Town officials will look to move the combined public safety building project forward next month at the Fall Town Meeting
At a recent selectmen meeting, Town Manager James Kern reviewed the design phase of the building, which is part of the municipal campus project. According to Kern, the size of the building is estimated at 38,000 sq. ft., a number that's based on comparable buildings and other studies.

At Town Meeting, Article three will ask residents to “raise and appropriate, borrow or transfer from available funds a sum of money for the Schematic Design of a Combined Public Safety Building, to be located at the site of the current Town Hall located at 26 Bryant Street.” The cost of the schematic design is about $1.1 million, with $4.5 million needed for the whole design phase.
The next step, the detailed design phase, is scheduled to be apart of the Spring Town Meeting, Kern said.
