Winning Dedham Square Project Bid 'As Estimated'

The project continues to move forward with plans to begin work in the spring.

The is forging ahead as the town has moved toward entering an agreement with a contractor.

Fed. Corp., a Dedham-based company, entered the low bid at about $5.18 million.

The next highest bidder entered in at $5.2 million. In all, the town recieved 11 bids, going as high as $6.51 million.

The town had estimated work to cost $5.15 million, with the additional money appropriated for resident engineering, police details and contigency funds. 

"It woudl be fair to say tha the construction portion of the project came in as estimated," said .

Field told the Dedham Board of Selectmen on Thursday that the town will now work toward signing a contract with Fed. Corp., and organize community meetings between the contractor and residents.

Following discussions on when the work would take place - - project officials received plenty of feedback from Dedham Square businesses and residents on formulating a plan. During those sessions, between the contractor and concerned parties.
