Sherborn Lions Club Youth Speech Competition
Event Details
The Sherborn Lions Club invites local high school students to take part in the 2026–2027 Massachusetts Lions Youth Speech Competition, a statewide competition that begins right here in Sherborn.
Students in grades 9–12 are invited to prepare an original 5–8 minute speech on this year’s topic:
“THE BOOK THAT MOST AFFECTED ME WAS…”
The Sherborn Club Level Competition will be held November 18 at 5:00 PM at the Sherborn 1858 Town House. Students may read directly from their manuscript at the club level, making this a great opportunity for both experienced speakers and students trying public speaking for the first time.
The Sherborn winner will receive a $100 gift card and certificate and advance to the next stage of the Massachusetts Lions competition. Students who continue to advance compete at the Zone, Region, District and State levels, culminating at the Massachusetts Lions State Convention. The State Champion receives $1,500, with $500 awards for the runners-up.
