Dover Elementary School Receives Bomb Threat
Police are investigating a bomb threat at Chickering Elementary School.

DOVER, MA - An elementary school in Dover was one of many to receive an automated bomb threat Monday.
Monday morning, Chickering Elementary School received a threat that was sent to multiple schools in the state, according to the Dover Police Department.
Dover police, fire, and school administrators swept the building and determined that the threat was a hoax.

"I am happy to report that our training and safety protocols worked as designed, and thank the schools and the members of the DPD and DFD for their cooperation," Police Chief Peter McGowan wrote on the department's Facebook page.
The threat is being investigated by the Dover Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police, the state Fire Marshall's office, and the FBI.
