Dr. John Quackenbush to Present "The Human Genome Project: From Darwin and Mendel to Personalized Medicine" at Dover Library

In this Monday, presentation at 6:30 pm, Dr. John Quackenbush, a renowned scientist and professor as well as a citizen of Dover, will take us on a tour of the history and science behind the Human Genome Project and the technologies that are revolutionizing the practice of medicine today. Starting with the fundamental principles of genetics and molecular biology, he will lead us on a journey of discovery about the ways in which genes function, alone or together with other genes and the environment, to either sustain life or trigger disease and explore how genomics is changing the way in which we diagnose and treat human disease.
