St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church will be holding an innovative food drive for A Place to Turn food pantry during Dover Days on Saturday, September 8, 2012. Unlike most food drives where you must remember to bring the food, St. Dunstan's makes it easy and fun to donate by setting up a small "grocery store" at Dover Days and inviting families to go shopping for a bag of groceries to help feed our neighbors in need.
A Place to Turn, located in Natick, is committed to providing emergency food and clothing to the Metrowest community. It serves those in need in an atmosphere of caring and respect in a friendly and dignified setting. Each year, A Place to Turn provides food to approximately 8000 individuals in 2400 households; about half of those are children.
Last year, with the participation of the Dover Community, St. Dunstan's provided over 600 grocery items to A Place to Turn. Shortly after the Dover Days event, the St. Dunstan's youth group delivered bags of groceries and restocked the shelves.
