EPS and Salem State reach direct admissions agreement (everettindependent.com) — Everett High School seniors now have a smoother path to Salem State, thanks to a new direct admissions agreement with Everett Public Schools that waives application fees, test scores, recommendations, and essays for eligible students. Starting this school year, EHS seniors with at least a 3.0 weighted GPA can secure admission, expanding affordable local college options just 10 miles from Everett.
   

2. Lynn man faces kidnapping charge in theft of car with 6-year-old in backseat (masslive.com) — Everett police helped safely end a frightening car theft that began in Lynn, tracking a vehicle with a 6-year-old inside to Revere Beach Parkway and Vale Street. Officers say the suspect struck several cruisers and a civilian car before being stopped and arrested, while the child was taken to the hospital as a precaution and later released.
   

3. Police Blotter: Flock helps nab alleged kidnapper in Lynn (bostonherald.com) — Everett Police helped safely recover a six-year-old taken in a stolen vehicle, after Lynn officers used Flock license-plate cameras to track the car and coordinate with nearby departments. The child was found within 39 minutes, the suspect was arrested, and the case has renewed debate over police use of Flock surveillance technology.
   

4. Crimson Tide hold on for exciting 27-26 victory over Somerville Joseph knocks down two-point conversion pass in final minute (everettindependent.com) — Everett football fans just watched the Crimson Tide edge Somerville 27–26 at Everett Veterans Memorial Stadium, keeping their Division 1 playoff hopes very much alive. A late touchdown, clutch two-point conversion, and a game-saving pass breakup in the final minute highlighted a night when freshman quarterback Michael Walsh and the Everett defense delivered under pressure.
