Black Lives Matter Sign Stolen On Cape, Thief Leaves Racist Notes

FALMOUTH, MA — A West Falmouth man's Black Lives Matter signs were stolen, and left behind were flyers promoting white supremacist views.
Adam Subhas told the Cape Cod Times this has happened twice over the last month. It took him a few weeks to get more signs because they are on back order, but the signs were stolen again within two days of rehanging them, Subhas said.
When the signs were stolen a second time, Subhas said he found three flyers in his mailbox. One of the flyers compares the Black Lives Matter movement to the Ku Klux Klan and Nazism. Another described George Floyd as an armed criminal.

"I'm still trying to deal with how I feel about all this because I feel like I was targeted, not because of who I am but because I put signs up, not necessarily anything about my identity," Subhas told the Cape Cod Times. "If I’m being targeted indiscriminately, you can just imagine the myriad ways in which people of color and Black people and minorities are targeted because of their color or identity."
This was the third time white supremacy flyers were found on Cape Cod since Floyd died in Minneapolis police custody. Last month, racist flyers and a noose were found in Yarmouth. Black Lives Matter signs were also stole in the Woods Hole area of Falmouth about two weeks ago.
