The unveiling of the Museums on the Green 125th Commemorative Painting & Presentation

A presentation by local artist Karen Rinaldo on the process involved in creating the commemorative painting celebrating 125 years of the Falmouth Historical Society – Museums on the Green.

Saturday, June 27th, 4pm

The Falmouth Historical Society – Museums on the Green is celebrating its 125th Anniversary. In honor of this Jubilee, Rachel Lovett, Executive Director, asked long time member and local artist Karen Rinaldo if she would create something that would reflect the local history and maritime influence that has been at the center of what the museum represents.

A collaborative effort began in October 2025 with the museum staff and the artist. In March 2026, the artist reported the history spanning 125 years had been completed, executed in her popular montage style painting design. With each step, you will sense the complexity and mental focus and marvel that it is all done without a computer.

There will be an unveiling of the commemorative work and visual historian Karen Rinaldo will present a slide program documenting the process involved in creating this historical painting.

The 40-minute presentation pays tribute to its founders, past presidents, the endearing campus landscape and buildings and you, the members.

Prints will be available, and may be personalized, purchased from the Falmouth Historical Society and will be available exclusively from the museum’s Whaling Wives Gift Shop.

Tickets: Museums on the Green Members & Volunteers free, non-members suggested donation of $10pp.
