Cape Police Need Public's Help Finding Deadly Hit-And-Run Driver

Police said the vehicle from the crash has fresh front-end damage and is missing a headlight and other parts.

YARMOUTH, MA — Yarmouth police are looking for the public's help finding the driver responsible for killing an 85-year-old man in a hit-and-run crash.

Alexander Gribko, of Yarmouth, was taking a walk on Nov. 29, when he was struck by a car on Winslow Gray Road between Swan Lake Road and Joshua Baker Road, according to police. He was found around 7:30 a.m. by an officer with the Yarmouth Department of Natural Resources. Fire officials pronounced Gribko dead at the scene.

The driver drove away after striking Gribko, police said.

On Wednesday, police provided an update on where they are in the investigation. Car parts believed to be from the front end of the car were sent off for analysis and identification. Police said the vehicle from the crash has fresh front-end damage and is missing a headlight and other parts.
