CAPE COD, MA — Dozens of sharks were spotted over the weekend on Cape Cod, and that's even after a sighting briefly closed Race Point Beach in Provincetown on Friday.

The beach was only closed for an hour on Friday, but was far from the only shark sighting this past weekend.

Among the known sharks to be spotted near Provincetown are "Cow", "Iceland", "Commodore", "Sharkuterie", and "Gooz".

And that's just near Provincetown.

In the waters off Orleans, known sharks named "Cheerio", "Ronald Tarentino Jr." and six others were spotted over the weekend, according to the Sharktivity app.

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, who operates the app, is now offering those who want to see the sharks on purpose an opportunity to do so by offering white shark charters.

Charters began running July 6 and will continue through Oct. 16. They are guided by a spotter pilot and a member of the conservancy's naturalist team will accompany the charter.
