Falmouth Awarded $8,300 In Fire Safety Grants
The grants will be used for fire safety education for children and seniors in Falmouth.
FALMOUTH, MA — The fire department was awarded more than $8,300 between two state grants for fire safety education for children and seniors. The grants are part of the Student Awareness of Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) and Senior S.A.F.E. programs. The Baker-Polito Administration awarded grants to 248 fire departments throughout the state.
Falmouth's fire department received $5,663 under the S.A.F.E. grant, which will be used for fire safety education programs for children. The $2,730 Senior S.A.F.E. grant will be used to make sure Falmouth's seniors are safe in the event of a fire.
"Since 1995, the S.A.F.E. program has brought fire education to hundreds of thousands of students in the Commonwealth," Gov. Charlie Baker said in a statement. "This program allows firefighters and teachers to work together to provide fire and life safety education to young people."
