How can our political leaders continue an experiment that was over 30 years ago in Boone. North Carolina. In research supported by the US Department of Energy, Dr. Neil Kelly and his colleagues in 1987 identified impulsive low frequency noise. The wind turbine infra sound and vibration produced “ Human Annoyance “ within neighbors homes.

Installing the wind turbines in Falmouth in 2010 was like telling the residents of Falmouth cigarettes don't cause cancer. In fact the Town of Falmouth hid a noise warning letter like the one you find on the outside of the cigarette package. This warning said the turbines generate 110 decibels of noise and the town hid the warning for 5 years. Your own officials put you and risk of your health, property rights and financing eleven or more ongoing litigation cases against the turbines.
It is easy to forget just how essential sleep is to health and happiness; until of course, you yourself have been deprived of it for a night or two.
Falmouth, Massachusetts has recently done a sleep deprivation study of their school system. The town may have inadvertently stumbled on wind turbine sleep deprivation while looking at school start times. The town has all the data from students and parents.
The Falmouth study finds the high school students near the two town owned wind turbines suffer the most deprivation. Only one of the town owned commercial wind turbines operates during the daytime raising questions of what effect the turbine could have on students. The high school does have a small wind turbine on the grounds.
The town contends the turbines are needed for financial gain. The former acting Town Manager knew it was a risk and said the town was a large town and could afford to take that risk.
Firsthand experience of sleep deprivation, even for a few days, is a powerful reminder of how mentally and physically debilitating it is. Even the ongoing disruption or restriction of sleep for a relatively short period of time can have devastating health consequences.
Falmouth residents have moved away from the wind turbines as have many people across North America.
Medical research has clearly shown that sleep is essential to human health and well being. Up to 200 residential home owners have been affected in Falmouth which has eleven ongoing lawsuits over the turbines.
Falmouth is ground zero for poorly placed wind turbines in North America.
Prolonged sleep deprivation has been linked to memory loss, hallucination, weakened resistance to pain, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, impaired immune response, extreme anxiety, stress, clinical depression, and suicide. In the most extreme cases, animal experimentation suggests that lack of sleep can kill you. Falmouth residents complain of all these symptoms
In Massachusetts every time a wind turbine goes up a new law firm is called and the politicians start the denial process that wind turbines don't hurt you.
Sleep deprivation has long been recognized as torture by the Geneva Conventions of 1949, the United Nations Convention against Torture (CAT), and the United States War Crimes Act.
