Falmouth Financial Wind Turbine Woes

"We took on a huge risk and I think we were successful but we're a large community and I think we can take on that risk" Heather Harper 2010

Former Falmouth town wind turbine manager and acting Town Manager Heather Harper in 2010

“We took on a huge risk and I think we were successful but we’re a large community and I think we can take on that risk,”

The Town of Falmouth hid a noise warning letter from the manufacturer of the wind turbines prior to the construction until a Freedom of Information Act Request in 2015. The letter warned the turbines were twice as loud as General Electric wind turbines.

General Electric refused to place wind turbines in Falmouth because of residential setbacks and ice throw.

The town also had a map in 2005 that showed the General Electric wind turbine would exceed 40 decibels of noise on Blacksmith Shop Road.

The Vestas turbines installed are twice the noise that of the GE wind turbines.

Memos, maps and letters all warned the turbines were too loud and the town went forward installing not one but two out of compliance wind turbines taking the health and property rights of up to 200 residential home owners. What were they thinking ?

Massachusetts state officials in 2010 had local Falmouth town officials following what is now a failed commercial wind turbine agenda. The state used the installations of the Falmouth wind turbines as an example statewide.

Today twenty one other communities suffer as a direct result of the risk taken by Falmouth officials. That risk involved hiding warning letters that took the health and property rights not only in Falmouth but statewide

History always remembers those that followed agendas taking health and property rights

Over the past few years thousands of people have won court judgments or settlements related to allegations of brutality and civil rights violations. The neighbors of the wind turbines describe the noise as torture from lack of sleep

The taxpayers of Falmouth knew in 2010 prior to the construction of the wind turbines they were living in a large community and the acting town manager said you can take on that risk.

The Town of Falmouth has been spending up to $300,000.00 every six months on wind turbine litigation while all those involved in the installations of the wind turbines quietly retire or find new jobs.

Ultimately the taxpayers are the only ones left. They knew the risk took the gamble and lost.

What defense in court does a town have that knew the risk and had plenty of taxpayers take on that risk.

The 2010 Vestas noise warning :
“The Town has previously been provided with the Octave Band Data / Sound performance for the V82 turbine. This shows that the turbine normally operates at 103.2dB but the manufacturer has also stated that it may produce up to 110dB under certain circumstances.”

How long before the courts rule commercial wind turbines are a human health hazard
