News Media Reports 8-Year-Old Gearbox Turbine Can Make Town 5.7 Million? Leaves Out New Location Still Break The Law By "A Few Decibels"

The last week of October 26, 2018, the Town of Falmouth received correspondence from Robert W. Rand, ASA, INCE. RAND ACOUSTICS.
Robert Rand is an acoustic expert with 38 years of experience.
The letter was a reminder of the town 40 dBA noise limit and the 2017 Barnstable Superior Court Decision.

The distance to meet 40 dBA for Wind II, a Vestas V82 with a sound power level of 110 dBA, is approximately 891 meters or 2923 feet. This is greater than the setback distances provided by the proposed new location. The proposed new location is still too close.
The setback for the new location of Falmouth Wind II requires safety and health setback to residential locations of 2923 feet.

The Rand Acoustics letter followed October 15, 2018, Weston & Sampson $14,000.00 presentation of the new location of Falmouth Wind II.
The news media attended the meeting and reported later in several publications in Massachusetts that the Town of Falmouth could make 5.7 million dollars operating an eight-year-old gearbox driven wind turbine for 30 years. They no longer produce gear driven turbines due to gearbox bearing failures.
The media missed the most important part of the October 15, 2018 meeting. The new location as reported still breaks noise regulations by a "few decibels." The Town of Falmouth has been in court for eight years over the turbines breaking state and town noise regulations. Breaking the law by 3 or 10 decibels is breaking the law! The news media continues on its path of eight years of reporting on the Falmouth wind turbines by omission.
Reporting by omission is only reporting the facts that agree with Editors political agenda despite health and safety of the public.
What's important to Falmouth taxpayers is there is no location safe at the Wastewater Treatment Plant that is safe for the health and safety of up to 200 residential homeowners around the site
