Falmouth Road Race To Hold Virtual At-Home Edition This Year
The 2020 New Balance Falmouth Road Race will go virtual with the "At-Home Edition" to allow runners to participate at home.
FALMOUTH, MA – This year's Falmouth Road Race will look very different this year, without the cheering crowds and iconic snapshots. Instead, the 2020 New Balance Falmouth Road Race will go virtual with the "At-Home Edition" to allow runners to still participate while helping stop the spread of the new coronavirus.
The 48th annual road race will go virtual this year, with participants running seven miles in their own neighborhoods between Aug. 15 and 29.
Registration will open on May 18 and the first 5,000 registrants will be guaranteed a spot in the 2021 race. More details about the virtual race will be released soon.

The race organization is taking extra steps this year to support nonprofit partners and the local community. It will purchase $25,000 in gift cards from Falmouth businesses to randomly award to participants in order to help the community now and help bring visitors back to when it is safe to travel again.
The Falmouth Road Race will also donate $5,000 to Cape Kid Meals, a grab-and-go meals program for students. Proceeds from the At-Home-Edition of the race will allow annual scholarships to be awarded to Falmouth high school seniors.
