Falmouth Wind Turbine Decommissioning Select Committee

Falmouth Town Meeting November 6, 2017 needs to appoint a special committee to decommission the wind turbines.

Chapter 49 Town Meeting:

A select committee is assigned to investigate and report back to the Town Meeting on a certain subject, or to undertake a certain substantive task.

The moderator frequently appoints its chairperson and members. Select committees are also called special committees.

At any Town Meeting when special committees are appointed or elected, a vote shall be passed establishing a budget for the committee, if required.

The time has come to appoint a special committee to decommission the 110-decibel wind turbines.

The Town of Falmouth citizens need to know everything about the wind turbine projects: Who, What, Why, When, Where, How, How Much?.

Falmouth wind turbine routine factual records, from state agency emails to internal town officials, took years to obtain from town and state agencies.

The Town of Falmouth scores low in the public records, accountability, and omissions categories — all F’s.

The transparency and ethics oversight of the commercial wind turbines was nonexistent.

Finacial interest was put above the health of citizens.

The Falmouth Select Board serves the public by fostering integrity in government.

The Town of Falmouth needs to appoint a panel to review the ethical mistakes installing two 1.65 megawatt commercial 110-decibel wind turbines in peoples backyards.

General Electric a domestic wind turbine company refused to place one single smaller turbine in Falmouth because of setbacks to residential homes.

The Town of Falmouth had been warned prior to the installations the turbines generate 110 decibels of noise.

It's time to review all the emails, maps, memos and wind turbine noise warning letter.

An investigative panel must be established so this health and financial fiasco never happen again.

Sooner rather than later.
