Falmouth Wind Turbine Doctors Letter Raises Red Flag

Health care providers aim to exercise the highest standard of care for all patents, there are times when things can go gravely wrong.

Health care providers generally exercise the highest standard of care for patients. There are times when things go wrong especially during a war.

Falmouth, Massachusetts is following the state political agenda of a war on fossil fuels. There is no doubt the two major US political parties view the war on carbon emissions differently.

Massachusetts has under the heading of climate change stated in the state party platform they are going to fight the war on fossil fuels like a real war. Federal officials have said climate change is more dangerous than ISIS.

The Falmouth five doctors wrote a letter to the Falmouth Board of Health based on Triage.

Triage is a method used during war time to treat the most patients first and leave the worst for last during a mass casualty situation.

The mistaken diagnosis in the 5 Falmouth doctor letter is based on the so called war on fossil fuels in which their letter hopes to save the general public and ignore up to 200 residential home owners around the commercial wind turbines. In other words the wind turbines are needed on the Falmouth battlefield to save the general public while ignoring those around the turbines as collateral damage on the war on fossil fuels.

In defense of the doctors mistaken diagnosis is the omissions and hiding of documents which include letters, memos, emails and maps by local and state politicians in an as the state party platform calls for an all out war on fossil fuels. History shows even during World War II doctors followed failed political agendas. They were held responsible after the war.

The doctors failed to do any high-quality research and followed a state political wind turbine agenda that today because of health concerns in twenty one communities as all but ground to a halt. Falmouth is ground zero for poorly placed wind turbines in the United States

A little research by the doctors would have shown the 1987 federal noise study on wind turbine infra sound in Boone, North Carolina. That turbine was taken down over noise concerns. This shows the doctors put a political agenda before reasonable research.

The original KEMA wind study maps in 2005 show the turbines noise levels were over state regulations, a letter to Select Board Member Mary Pat Flynn from MassDEP shows the turbines break state law, MassCEC admitted acoustic noise mistakes in original studies, MassCEC new setbacks 2000 feet, Cape Cod Commission 3000 feet for a Falmouth type turbine.

The worst letter is the August 2010 letter the town has never posted on its web site that the turbines generate a chest pounding 110 decibels of noise. The letter remains hidden from the public

To become a medical doctor requires a minimum of 12 years of education after high school.

In the case of the following letter the five doctors sadly have ignored their education for a political agenda

Dr. Gail Harkness, Chairperson Falmouth Board of Health 59 Town Hall Square Falmouth, MA 02540

Re: Health effects of wind turbines in Falmouth

Dear Dr. Harkness,

As physicians and residents of Falmouth, we are contacting you regarding the allegations of health impacts from wind turbines. While we do not claim to have expertise in wind energy or acoustics, as a group we have decades of experience in medicine and health.

Given Cape Cod's formidable wind resource, the large wind turbines located in Falmouth can generate substantial amounts of energy. This not only provides revenue for the Town, but also reduces air pollution and climate change. The proven risks of climate change are all too clear - especially for Coastal Communities.

We have listened to the wind turbines and find there is little to hear. The measured decibel levels are modest. We are skeptical that any actual health hazard is created by their operation. Credible public health research indicates that psychogenic nocebo effects may be largely responsible for the controversy, as well as NIMBYism.

Our Society needs to transition from fossil fuels to renewable sources. We urge you to not support curtailment or removal of wind turbines, which would be a regressive step, not a sensible use of taxpayer dollars, and unsubstantiated by a medical or Scientific basis,

Sincerely

Nathaniel Clark, MD Jame S Liljestrand, MD RobertReece, MD
