Falmouth Wind Turbine Documents Being Filed At Massachusetts State Digital Library

In May of 2012 former Select Board Member Mary Pat Flynn received notification Falmouth Wind I is breaking the Massachusetts Department of Protection Air Pollution Control Regulations, 310 CMR 7.00

The exceeded noise letter is from Ken Kimmell formerly of BCK law and Mass DEP Commisioner

Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection found that Falmouth’s “Wind 1” turbine exceeds the allowable noise level,

Former Massachusetts Senate President Therese Murray (D-Plymouth) announced the finding that morning. She was quoted as saying:

“I’m glad that the results of DEP’s study will provide residents affected by Wind 1 with some relief. This is an issue that has divided the community,”

Murray also said in a statement. “I believe that industrial size wind turbines do not belong in residential neighborhoods, but we should not remove wind energy from the renewable energy mix in Massachusetts.”

Up to 200 residential home owners who live near the turbines and for more than seven years have complained of nausea, vertigo and other health problems.
