Town Meeting Members last week approved another $260,000.00 dollars in litigation fees for the wind turbines

The Massachusetts courts have previously ruled up to 200 residential home owners around the two town owned wind turbines could suffer : ‘Irreparable Physical and Psychological Harm’

The Town of Falmouth continues to face a major problem that it hid noise warnings, maps and documents from the public and avoided the Special Permit process 240-166 because it would have required additional notification to up to 200 residential home owners.

Had the town followed the permit process the neighbors would have been notified the Vestas turbines were far too loud at 110 decibels and would never have been built.

The town hid a noise warning letter from Vestas the manufacturer of the two town owned wind turbines that the turbines were twice as loud as General Electric turbines used in Falmouth noise studies financed by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center.

General Electric refused to build wind turbines because of setbacks to residential property lines and ice throw.

The Town of Falmouth has lost every wind turbine case

Prior to the construction of Falmouth Wind Turbine number 2 Vestas wind company warned the town had been previously warned the turbines were twice as loud as the GE turbines

RE: Falmouth WWTF Wind Energy Facility II "Wind II", Falmouth, MA

Contract No. #3297

Dear Mr. Potamis, Due to the sound concerns regarding the first wind turbine installed at the wastewater treatment facility, the manufacturer of the turbines, Vestas, is keen for the Town of Falmouth to understand the possible noise and other risks associated with the installation of the second wind turbine. The Town has previously been provided with the Octave Band Data / Sound performance for the V82 turbine. This shows that the turbine normally operates at 103.2dB but the manufacturer has also stated that it may produce up to 110dB under certain circumstances. These measurements are based on IEC standards for sound measurement which is calculated at a height of 10m above of the base of the turbine.
