Falmouth Wind Turbines 3 Causes of Cancer

Cancer is a complex group of diseases with many possible causes. A number of forces can cause gene mutations, such as smoking, radiation, viruses, cancer-causing chemicals, obesity, hormones, chronic inflammation and a lack of exercise.

A healthy immune system is undoubtedly needed to stay alive.

Three combinations of wind turbine operations all leading to health problems: electromagnetic fields (EMF), shadow flicker, audible noise, low-frequency noise and infrasound.

The first type of noise, Wind turbines produces regulatory noise measured in decibels. This is the noise measured by the state of Massachusetts in decibels with a meter at a given location. This noise is the swooshing or thumping sound like a pair of sneakers you hear in a clothes dryer.

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick commissioned a wind turbine study under the executive branch of government in 2012 that determined wind turbines do cause sleep disturbance. Each of the turbines installed in Falmouth is twice as loud at 110 decibels than those used in the study. It may also be true that many of the megawatt wind turbines installed in Massachusetts are louder than their original stated specifications.

The second type of noise, Human annoyance or what is called infra-sound or low frequency. In research supported by NASA and the US Department of Energy, Dr. Neil Kelly and his colleagues in 1987 identified impulsive low-frequency noise. The wind turbine infrasound and vibration produced " Human Annoyance " within neighbor's homes.

Infrasound is capable of moving internal organs to some degree, thus instigating nausea, and high volumes regardless of frequency can stimulate the fight-or-flight reaction.

Former Vestas' CEO, Ditlev Engel has admitted that larger setback distances are the only way to address low frequency and infrasonic impacts. A single 110-decibel commercial wind turbine needs a setback of almost 3000 feet.

The third impact is electromagnetic fields. Epidemiologic research has consistently found associations between residential magnetic field exposure and cancer.

The EMF, electromagnetic fields from wind turbines cause clutter and blind spots on the radar of airports and fishing vessels. Massachusetts does not allow wind turbines within one mile of airport flight paths and requires over one nautical mile between ocean wind turbines for rescue operations.

The current and past Governor of Massachusetts operating the executive branch of government to achieve a political renewable energy agenda by the national party can be blamed for the current land-based wind turbine health and financial fiasco.

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection part of the executive branch brokered a federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 5 million loan on the second Falmouth wind turbine and filed a bogus federal waiver ignoring health and safety warnings as the state was the original owner of the turbine. They had the specifications the turbine generates 110 decibels of noise

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health part of the executive branch after a 2012 Falmouth Board of Health meeting failed to take action and ten years later has never interviewed a single wind turbine victim in as many as twenty-one communities.

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Public Health are stuck in regulatory capture helping the wind turbine industry and ignoring the health and safety of Massachusetts citizens.

Neighbors are far better acoustic analyzers for determining the quality of their life versus any acoustic instrument left unattended by an expert.
