Introduction to Judaism Course Offered at Falmouth Jewish Cong.
Members of the community are invited to participate along with FJC members in this Thursday evening fall course

Falmouth Jewish Congregation welcomes the community’s participation in an Introduction to Judaism course that will be taught this fall by Rabbi Elias J. Lieberman and Pamela Rothstein, Director of Lifelong Learning. This seven-session course will meet on Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M. from October 4 – November 15.
With the help of suggested readings and handouts, this course will explore topics of Jewish life and culture such as holidays, rituals, history, core beliefs, ethics, social justice, diversity, spirituality/worship, and the role of Hebrew. The course does not function on a drop-in basis for certain topics, but rather requires a commitment to attending all sessions so that the group can coalesce as a learning community. We welcome both FJC members and members of the Cape community, many of whom have expressed an interest in better understanding Judaism. Teens and adults from all faith backgrounds or no faith affiliation are welcome. In short, this course is for anyone with a desire to learn about Judaism. Consider inviting a friend to join you. Jewish tradition encourages partnered study, and attending with a friend would promote continued conversation after class hours. Non-members pay a fee of $36. Instructors will prepare handouts for weekly discussions, but will also recommend several basic texts about Judaism, which participations may opt to purchase on their own.
Registration is required in advance by email or telephone. To register or to make inquiries about the course, please write to Pamela Rothstein at pbrothstein@comcast.net or call her at 508-540-0602.
