MBTA Free Friday
All transit services—including the commuter rail—will be free Fri., April 24 for a "Customer Appreciation Day."

After a historic winter that shut down the MBTA for periods this winter, the transit service will be free Friday for a “Customer Appreciation Day.”
The event will also include discounts at local attractions, stores, and restaurants if patrons show their MBTA card.
“I hope to see a lot of people take advantage of this unique opportunity to use the MBTA free of charge,” said Secretary of Transportation and MassDOT CEO Stephanie Pollack in a news release. “We have partnered with our friends in the business community to offer T users some affordable and entertaining activities throughout the region.”

The MBTA is also offering 15 percent discounts on weekly and monthly passes in May .
